Publish to multiple headlines

January 20, 2016   by AnnMarie Person

Many years ago we developed the first network for sports where events and files could be shared in a cloud-based environment with hopes of streamlining an SIDs' daily postgame workflow. We called this Game day and promoted it as the two-minute drill where you could complete your entire postgame checklist in one area within minutes (two in fact).

In the years since, we've recognized that an SID's role has evolved greatly in the area of web editing and have heard suggestions from many on how to continue to make these tasks more efficient.

We've recently finished a feature for Game day which we think will greatly improve this. In our next software release, you will be able to post releases to multiple headlines through Game day. Because Game day was originally based on your workflow after a single event, it was restricted from posting to other sports. With this update, when adding a recap or release to any season or event, you can simply publish the story to multiple pages at once. It's quick and easy to use and encompasses every headline in Game day!

When choosing to publish your release through the "Publish to headlines" button, the first tab will default to publish this to your three main headlines as is available now, your home page rotator, your sport rotator and your sport news headline. The next tab will show all the headlines available in the current season where you can either select all or choose select headlines using a check box. The Browse tab allows you to search all headlines in Game day and the final Selected tab shows which headlines you chose to publish to.

The very next exciting step to this development is the introduction of a General seasons in Game day. The General season will work similarly to a sport season where you'll see tabs for headlines, releases, photos, videos and files so you can quickly bulk upload information here for easier setup of photo galleries and better organization. We'll let you know once this is available and you can set it up yourself using the same season setup tool at the start of every year.

While these are small steps in making your life easier, there are still a few improvements we're working on with each feature.
